Dear Bolinas Stinson Families,
What an amazing first day back at school! A huge thank you to our wonderful BSUSD staff for all their hard work to make our students’ return to school such a great success. The students and staff were excited and so happy to be back. It warms my heart to hear their laughter and voices outside my office as I am writing this message. CORE ENRICHMENT COMMITTEE
I am thrilled to share that our Board of Trustees reauthorized the formation of the Core Enrichment Committee to help inform their decisions regarding Core Enrichment programs at Bolinas-Stinson School.
Please consider becoming a member of this important team! Here are some great reasons why you should get involved:
Have a say in what enrichment opportunities and experiences you would like BSUSD to provide for your child.
Help the school to develop its vision of what qualities and skills we want our students to have when they leave us.
Play an active role in shaping our school for the future of all Bolinas Stinson Students.
The committee work may include:
Gathering information about Spanish, visual arts, music, coding, maker-space, digital arts, performance arts/ dance & theater.
Researching and observing programs and practices in other schools.
Assessing the practicality and financial implications of a comprehensive Core Enrichment program.
We had a robust pre-pandemic Core Enrichment Committee and I hope to continue this work as soon as possible. Please reach out to Johanna Scutt at johannas@bolinas-stinson.org to join us on this important work. We will be sharing information regarding our first meeting soon!
INTERIM WOODSHOP SUBSTITUTE
You may have heard that Ron Brown, our much loved woodshop teacher, retired this summer. I am delighted the board decided to temporarily fill the wood shop vacancy with a substitute until the Core Enrichment Committee can provide the board with a report and recommendations. More information is coming soon!

I am excited to invite you to participate in the first BSUSD Community North Star Event on Thursday, August 26th from 4:00-6:00 PM. This event brings students, parents, staff and community members together to share their desires for our students and thoughts about the future path of our school, in essence, helping us to identify our school’s North Star.
Your participation in this valuable BSUSD community event is the first step for our school community as we work towards making our shared vision a reality for our students.
Please RSVP by Friday, August 20th, if you are interested in participating, so that we may arrange for childcare and food for participants.
