COVID-19 Community Update May 10, 2021
Dear Bolinas-Stinson School Community,
As we enter the final few weeks of the very memorable 2020-2021 school year, as our COVID tests continue to come back negative and vaccination rates increase, I think we can feel some gratitude, even optimism.
As summer approaches, however, we should remind ourselves that school is not over and neither is the pandemic. Marin’s numbers are low but they have brought us only to the edge of the Yellow tier, not letting us move out of Orange for an unexpected 5 weeks beyond earlier predictions.
We believe that the FDA will authorize the Pfizer vaccine for children 12-15 years old as early as this Wednesday. (See below for a link to more information.) This will certainly help with our safety efforts.
Please do not let your guard down. The school is still required to have all students and staff wearing masks while on campus even during outside activities, including recess and P.E. We know face coverings are inconvenient but there is only a little time left in the school year and following our local health department guidance is still important.

A medida que entramos en las últimas semanas del memorable año escolar 2020-2021, a medida que nuestras pruebas de COVID continúan dando negativo y las tasas de vacunación aumentan, creo que podemos sentir algo de gratitud, incluso optimismo.
Sin embargo, a medida que se acerca el verano, debemos recordarnos que la escuela no ha terminado ni la pandemia. Los números de Marin son bajos, pero solo nos han llevado al límite del nivel Amarillo, sin dejarnos salir de Orange por 5 semanas inesperadas más allá de las predicciones anteriores.

Por favor, no bajes la guardia.
