School Closure Update:
Dear Bolinas-Stinson and Lagunitas School Families:
Today’s county-wide conference call made it clear that the school closure is likely to continue beyond the April 7. In all likelihood, school will remain closed until at least May 1. As we monitor the progress of the COVID-19 pandemic and get guidance from medical officials, we will continue to provide updates.
Spring Break (the week of April 6-10) will occur during the closure. As you know our teachers have done phenomenal work and have exceeded expectations in their efforts to provide remote leaning opportunities for students. They are in need of some time to rest and help their own families adjust to life under the current circumstances, so they will not be asked to provide instruction during the break.
As we continue to shelter in place, we may not be aware of some of the courageous work going on around us. Not only are our teachers working hard to create some sense of instructional continuity for our kids but classified employees have been providing lunches for those who need them and our maintenance staff has done excellent work at sanitizing and securing our schools during this closure.
While this situation is challenging, it is inspirational to know that our communities have risen to the occasion and that staff, parents and students are doing their part in this world-wide effort to slow the pandemic and save lives.
Thank you for your continued patience, courage and resolve.
John Carroll,
Superintendent
